Whiteriver Unified School District
Whiteriver is located on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation in the beautiful White Mountains of northeastern Arizona. We are very proud of our staff and the relationship they enjoy with our students. Our staff represents a variety of cultures and mesh well with our predominately Apache students.
It is the focus of the Whiteriver Unified School District to improve the academic achievement of all our students. To this end we are committed to using all the resources available to ensure a Highly Qualified/Highly Effective teacher is in each classroom. While we are teaching Arizona State Standards and transitioning to the Arizona Common Core Standards, we understand the importance of our students knowing their cultural history and who they are.
We encourage parent support through ensuring that students come to school every day on time and ready to learn. To help with this we provide transportation services to and from school and provide breakfast and lunch free of charge to our students. We also encourage parents to become a part of their child's school Parent Advisory Council or PAC. Through active engagement parents are able to have curriculum and budget input, as well as other school improvement decisions.
We encourage student participation in extracurricular activities. There are sports programs and other after school activities at each school site such as student government and various clubs.
We believe in and practice the message of Kids At Hope.
"All children are capable of success, No Exceptions!"
